This week at Alberstons they were having a Quaker sale, so I assembled all of my Quaker coupons, made a list, and set out. Here is what I got:
10 boxes of Life cereal
5 boxes of Cap'n Crunch
4 boxes oatmeal breakfast cookies
10 boxes of chewy granola bars
16 boxes of instant oatmeal
2 tubs baby wipes
(smiling 2 year old not included)

It was around $190 worth of groceries. Anyone want to guess what I ended up paying after using all my coupons and in-store deals?
$21.56
I can hardly believe it myself. When I saw the total, I nearly started to cry tears of joy right there in the middle of the check out line. (...seriously...) I had to refrain from hugging Karen, the checkout lady. I got all choked up. I think I may have even squealed a few times when in the privacy of my car. I despise grocery shopping. Detest it, really. But when I am able to get a deal like this, it makes it all worth it.
p.s. The baby wipes were completely free. =)

too bad that darling, smiling 2 year old isn't included!! He is just smiling because he is thinking about how to open all those boxes of cereal and spread them throughout your house! Nice score at Albies! I have yet to learn the patience of Coupons! Way to go sis!
are you kidding me! What a great deal. I would have cried with joy right there as well. AMAZING! Well worth a post!
I totally can relate I love grocery smarts and pinching your pennies and just about cry when ever I walk out of alberts with such a great deal.
Nothing like a good bargain to make your heart rate soar, right?
I love Cam looking at the faboulous deals you got. I would have screamed right there in the store!! Amazing deal! I've got to start doing the coupon thing.
I love getting a good deal I was in Smith's one day when they put the large boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Lucky Charms for $2 normally close to $6 a box and I had a $1.50 off three coupon. so I got them for $1.50 each. Got to love coupons
Gotta love it when you get an awesome deal at the store (especially on groceries)!! I'm with you on detesting grocery shopping. I would rather scrub a toilet. Faye got me hooked on the 'clip coupons and shop the sales at Albertsons' thing too. I hate Albertsons, and all the time it takes to plan, but I love the money I save. It has really helped in these depressing economic times. We should go and hate it together some day :).
Whoa! congrats! That price truly is a good reason to shed some joyous tears! Any tips for someone who has no idea on how shop using coupons? I probably have to start by gettinga newspaper?
YOU ARE A SUPERWOMAN!!!!! I don't have the patience to do all that coupon stuff but I'm glad that you do. You and Ann are amazing.
Hello!! I even step into another store my Wal Mart husband tells me it is cheaper at WALMART!!!! I even got rear-ended leaving a Target once! I am proud of YOU!!! Love coupons, especially with our discount at Wal Mart. Nothing better then a GREAT deal!! Lisa
Thank you for the inspiration! I told Jen that if she used coupons, I would give her half of what she saved for her own spending, but that was not enough motivation. She saw this post and we were off. Monday, we got all the kids up early so we could hit Albertson's. We were able to procure $425 worth of usable and storable groceries for $120! (I kinda feel like one of the info-mercials or a tele-evangelist, or a multi-level marketing salesman...not sure which...) Anyway, thank you! for the tips. If jen gets tired of doing this, I will be glad to pay you part of the savings to do my grocery shopping...
