Let me just start out by saying that as i type this, my "shift" key is sitting on the counter next to me. That's right. it's not even connected to my computer anymore. i will blame the kids, since they have been playing games on my laptop, and because as parents, we can blame kids for just about everything and usually be right. ("Where is my Parker Pen!?!") Anyway...this post is not about my shift key. i was merely informing all of you that any of the letters requiring the use of the left shift key will not be capitalized. There. on with the real post!Guess what i did all day Thursday? i sat in my sewing dungeon (those of you who have seen it, know why i refer to it as such) and sewed all day. i had a table runner that was due for the YW auction for camp, a new dress i had promised Emma for her graduation, and a Rennasaince (I am aware that i spelled that wrong, but i don't really care right now) costume to sew for Morgan for school the next day. First of all, i would like to thank joann's crafts for having their fabric 40% off just when i needed it, and for having this cute butterfly sparkly fabric that Emma found and was not leaving the store without. So here is the dressie, modeled by my princess Emma. her favorite part is the butterfly applique whose wings still flutter. =) I think i will cry when the day comes when she doesn't want to prance around in my homemade little dressies anymore. They just won't look the same on Cam.
And here we have the lovely morgan displaying the latest Rennaisance attire, a must-have for this season's fashion. She actually had to wear it to school for the whole day as part of her grade. yes, those are curls you see in her hair.
i would also like to thank Wal-mart for being open at 9:30 PM on Thursday evening so that i could go out in my jammie bottoms and sweatshirt and no bra (something i swore i would never do...shopping in my PJs, that is. i don't really care if i'm not wearing a bra at 9:30 PM) and buy ribbons, flowers and pipe cleaners so that i could make the head thingy. isn't is just lovely? i would also like to thank the people of Wal-mart for not caring if i was in my jammies with no bra , since everyone else there was dressed very much the same.
Ah....and here we have the beautiful table runner that i made for the young Women's auction (they were raising money for camp). i found the fabric in St. George and thought it was just (I'm going to say it...) darling! i spent much longer on this blasted project than i care to remember, but not to worry because it sold at the auction for.......$6..... Yup. Six bucks. i'm not offended. Really i'm not. (deep cleansing breath....). And i'm not even going to go into the fact that i spent at least 3 times that amount on fabric alone. it doesn't matter. Really it doesn't. i'm sure that that$6 will be able to help buy a couple bags of chips or something for girls camp. And really it could have been worse. it could have only been $5.

Fabulous Job on all the sewing projects! I would have bid WAY more than $6.00 if it was in my ward.
I would have bid at least $7.00 maybe $8.00 for that. I love the fabric.
I LOVE Emma's dressis. I need to make my little ones a few more. They love them.
Morgan looks darling. I love the dress. You really are talented.
About Walmart...I am sending over a link to pioneer woman that will make you LAUGH!!!
Excellent projects. Love all of them. Morgan you look so good. Very talented. Couldnt someone pay at least 10 to help the girls camp fund. Way cuter than the 6
I would have to agree with all the other comments. You are so talented...You must have got that from your mother....LOL....really though it is fun to see all the talents my girls have pick up. GOOD work on all your sewing.LOVED them all.
Six bucks?! I would have bid more than six bucks and I'm not even sure what the purpose of a table runner is!
Since Susan has started this bloggin thing I've started checking hers and the blogs she's linked to. I hope I'm not improperly introducing testosterone into the mix since ALL the comments that I read (except for on my nephew's site) are from women. I kind of get the impression that mockery and sarcasm are not smiled upon so I'll try to keep it in check.
p.s. I usually don;t wear my bra to Wal-mart after 9:30 either.
Your sewing is amazing! I sure wish I new how to sew more than a crooked line, but alas, I am doomed to buying all of my daughter's dresses!
I completely understand on the auction! My 20 hours of work went for $5. Oh well!
You always amaze me with your talents! I may be calling because apparently I need a boy costume from the same time period.
You are amazing! I love the dresses. Loni is lucky that her grandmother sews for her. I haven't made it a priority and I know that I will regret that someday.
Six bucks?? I don't want to know who bought it for that. Well, I do....but don't tell me!
It really is pretty. I didnt even see it at the auction. Not that I spent a lot of money though...I was on a money freeze...bank-o-thomas.
