The other day Emma and Cam were out on the deck playing when suddenly Emma started calling me very frantically. "MOM! Mom!" she called out. "Come here quick!" So being the good mother that I am, I dropped everything and ran out to see what she was yelling about. When I walked out on the deck, she pointed over to the side of the house where the snow had begun to melt over that past couple of days and said, "Look. Mom! GRASS!"
I had to laugh at how excited she was, but then I realized that she had not seen grass since about December 1st. It has been buried deep under layers of snow. She was so very excited though, and even pointed it out to her older siblings as well when they returned home from school.
The past few days have been so nice with the sun shining and a heat wave of temperatures in the high 40s. I think it was Monday that I actually hit the streets again running, the first time in over 3 months. (Running on the treadmill is just not the same.) Cam was elated when he saw me pull out the green and black jogging stroller, and he climbed up in it before I could even pump up the tires. Mid run I had my jacket shed and I was simply enjoying the warmth of the sun against my arms and face.
So that was our nice preview of Spring. And today it is snowing once again.

it is snowing here too, but not as bad as you have it. You can keep it. I am jealous you can run outside. I haven't been out since we were in Utah. I am being a slacker and haven't even run once this week. OH WELL!!
That Emma is too cute. I can her her saying that.
Our kids would be just as shocked at snow as yours are grass. Glad you've been enjoying some warm temps though, it makes everything so much happier.
